DEADLINE: Tuesday, JANUARY 12, 2021

The SSO is accepting proposals for the 2021-2023 Clinical Investigator Award (CIA) and the 2021 Young Investigator Award (YIA) through Tuesday, January 12, 2021. The purpose of these awards is to promote patient-oriented research conducted by surgical oncologists in clinical and translational science. Interested researchers are invited to apply for the award. Applications are reviewed and selected by members of the SSO Research Committee.

 

CIA Basic Eligibility and Terms

  • Applicants for the CIA must be surgical oncologists within 8 years of completion of training

The award will be funded for two years at $100,000 ($50,000 per year) and is given to the sponsoring institution. Funding will begin on April 1, 2021. Learn more and access complete application details.

Apply for the Clinical Investigator Award

 

YIA Basic Eligibility and Terms

  • Applicants for the YIA must be surgical oncologists within 5 years of completion of training
  • The award will be funded for one year at $25,000 and is given to the sponsoring institution. Funding will begin on April 1, 2021. Learn more and access complete application details.

For both awards, applicants must be an SSO member for at least six months prior to application. Award recipients will be announced at the SSO 2021, Virtual Meeting, March 18-20. Applicants will be informed of the outcome via email shortly after the conclusion of the meeting.
