The Center for Bioethics and Research has announced yet another new course “Observational Research Protocols: An Introduction” in partnership with Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI).
Observational studies are important and exceedingly useful in the biomedical and social sciences, as well as other fields such as education.
This concise course covers the essentials of observational research protocol design and development.It explores the three primary types of study designs commonly used: cross-sectional, case-control, and cohort (both prospective and retrospective). Learners explore the strengths and weaknesses of each and what research questions they best address. The course also guides learners through the development and writing of an observational research protocol. The course illustrate issues and explain key areas using real life examples.
